Barcelona renews Lamine Jamal's contract until 2031

Barcelona has renewed the contract of its brilliant winger, Lamine Jamal, until 2031, the Catalan club announced on Tuesday.

"Barcelona and Lamine Jamal have reached an agreement to renew his contract, which will bind him to the club until June 30, 2031," the Catalan club said in a statement.

"The renewal of Lamine Jamal's contract is a confirmation of the solidity of the Barcelona project. His brilliance on the world football stage is unparalleled among only a handful of players, and this began in his official debut, specifically on April 29, 2023, when he was fifteen years old."

Spanish newspapers reported that Jamal, of Moroccan origin, has become one of Barcelona's highest-paid players after his contract renewal.

Jamal's career has seen a meteoric rise in recent months. After winning the European Championship with Spain last summer, he scored 18 goals and provided 25 assists in 55 matches across all competitions last season, helping his team score 102 goals. His impressive performances have made him a candidate for the Ballon d'Or, awarded annually by the French football magazine France Football.

Jamaal, 17, is a key player for Barcelona and also helped his team win the Spanish Super Cup.

Jamaal graduated from Barcelona's Masia Academy and, despite his young age, has made over 100 appearances for the Catalan club.
