American rapper Snoop Dogg has become a co-owner of Welsh club Swansea City, which plays in the English Championship, the club announced.
The 53-year-old joins former Real Madrid and current AC Milan midfielder Luka Modrić in owning the Welsh club, which played in the English Premier League between 2011 and 2018 before being relegated to the second tier.
Snoop Dogg made a surprise appearance on the club's social media pages last week, showcasing the new 2025-26 kit, before the club announced he has become an investor.
Snoop Dogg's ownership comes after American businessmen Brett Cravat and Jason Cohen took over the club last November.
Swansea City hopes Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, can use his more than 100 million social media followers to boost the club's profile as it seeks to return to the Premier League for the first time since its relegation in 2018.
Swansea's owners have confirmed their desire to generate greater revenue, allowing them to invest more in new players in accordance with British football's profitability and sustainability guidelines.
"My love for football is well known, but becoming a club owner with Swansea City is a special feeling," the rapper told the club's website on Thursday. "I've been moved by the story of the club and the region. It's a proud, working-class city and club... I'm proud to be part of Swansea City."
