Chanel presented a collection of simple, haute couture pieces at the Grand Palais on Tuesday, marking the French fashion house's final fashion show before new artistic director Matthieu Blazy takes over designing the upcoming collections.
For the fall-winter 2025-2026 season, the French fashion house is refocusing on winter classics, using its iconic tweed fabric, which this time appears in dresses of varying lengths, long coats, and low-waisted skirt and pant suits embellished with sequins, feathers, and pearls.
A statement from the house stated that "the proportions of the designs, inspired by men's wardrobes, guarantee complete freedom of movement for the body."
This new collection combines light dresses and skirts made of silk or voile, layered in multiple layers, as well as long skirts open over short skirts, or even wide belts with pockets. The various designs featured black, beige, and white, complemented by thigh-high boots with rounded toes.
The show concluded with a traditional bridal look, featuring a long-sleeved white gown embellished with sequins.
Among the guests who attended the fashion show were actresses Marion Cotillard, Carole Bouquet, Penelope Cruz, and Kirsten Dunst, as well as pop singers Lorde and Gracie Abrams.
Chanel's next collection, which will be shown in October during Paris Women's Fashion Week, will be designed by Mathieu Blazy, who was appointed artistic director of the house in December, six months after the sudden resignation of Virginie Viard.
