A luxury leather goods store in Paris, specializing in second-hand goods, was robbed Sunday morning by several individuals, who stole Chanel, Hermès, and Dior handbags worth an estimated one million euros, according to police sources.
The robbery occurred shortly after 5:00 a.m. (03:00 GMT) on Rue Faubourg Saint-Honoré in the 8th arrondissement, an area of the French capital home to a number of luxury stores.
Police sources explained that the perpetrators entered the Houlux store through a fourth-floor balcony, which they climbed up to.
After disabling the alarm, they began throwing the bags out the window, before an accomplice picked them up and loaded them into a vehicle. The stolen items amounted to more than 100 bags from Hermès, Dior, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel.
The thieves left the scene after 20 minutes, and the value of the stolen items was estimated at around one million euros, excluding taxes.
The company's competent units have begun investigating the circumstances of the robbery.
