Mohamed Salah is the best player in the English Premier League for the second time.

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah was named the Premier League's Player of the Season on Saturday after his impressive individual performances helped his team secure the domestic title.

Salah scored 28 goals and provided 18 assists to lead Arne Slot's side to the title with four games to spare.

Having won the award in the 2017-18 season, Salah became only the fifth player to win it twice, after Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nemanja Vidic, and Kevin De Bruyne.

The 32-year-old Egyptian is also on course to win the Golden Boot again for the most goals in a single season, five ahead of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak before the final round of the season on Sunday.

No player has scored or assisted 46 goals in a 38-game season, and Salah could even break the record of 47 goals held by Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole, who achieved this feat in a 42-game season, when Liverpool host Crystal Palace at Anfield.

With six assists, more than any other player, Salah could become the first player to win the Golden Boot, Golden Playmaker, and Player of the Season awards in a single season.

Salah also won the Football Writers' Association Player of the Year award for the third time earlier this month.
